Ruddy Turnstone feeding on crab eggs - video - New Jersey

Short video clip showing Ruddy Turnstones, and other shorebirds, feeding on horseshoe crab eggs:

Like a gold rush, except it is for the crab eggs. “Egg rush” perhaps? 😜

During the annual spring migration along the Delaware Bay in Southern New Jersey, this is a very common site. Many birds arrive to feed on just laid eggs.

Did you notice the large amount of birds in the background?

How many other species of shorebirds did you see?

How about that short dispute between two Ruddy Turnstones?
