Peregrine Falcon feeding chicks - video - New Jersey

Video of an adult Peregrine Falcon bringing just caught prey to feed its 4 chicks, eyas, in the nest:

Peregrine Falcon ( Falco peregrinus ) feeding chicks - New Jersey

Something that I’ve noticed when editing this clip, is that the chick at the front of the parent gets most of the food, barely leaving anything for the one in the back. I wish there was a way to distinguish between these young birds as I have more videos from that day. If this behavior continued throughout few days, maybe this would somewhat explain why some of those chicks didn’t survive that season.
